As we greet Memorial Day I know summer is soon to arrive and in Kansas the temps are reflecting my thoughts. What books will make your summer sizzle? I know that I will reread a few Carolyn Hart Mysteries and I will try to find some mysteries with humor in them. I know that before the week is over I will visit my library and ask for some Selma Eichler Mysteries. I love Desiree and her niece. These are part of my comfort reads and of course since I'm in a British Mystery Mood Miss Seeton is will be on this summer's reading list as will any Christopher Fowler Mysteries.
Now tell me what new authors you have discovered that tickle your funnybone so I can add them to my reading list. Laura Levine has a standing appointment with me until I read her whole series as today I plan on interlibrary loaning SHOES TO DIE FOR I mean what a great title. What woman doesn't love shoes, a good mystery plot and a cat named Prosac?
My down time for the summer won't actually start for a couple more weeks. I can't wait until August as that is when I have a WHOLE month to do anything that I want and reading is at the top of my to-do list for August.
Okay your turn tell us what tickles your funny bones and what books are on your summer reading list?

  1. I love so many you named. I also would add Tamar Myers, Sheryl J Anderson, Rhonda Pollero, Kyra Davis, Diane Mott Davidson and Rhys Bowen to name a few.....

  2. Tamar Myers antique store mysteries are fun and I need to catch up on Diane Mott Davidson the last one I read was Dark Tort. I also want to catch up on Sarah Graves Series and the Julie Hyzy Series. Of cvourse I'm always wishing Victoria Laurie and Mary Daheim would pen more books. LOL

  3. I'm reading Death of a Trophy Wife by Laura Levine and I can't stop laughing at the antics. I have my usual authors coming out with new books this summer: Lorna Barrett, Heather Webber, Janet Evanovich, Carolyn Haines, Deborah Sharp, Donna Andrews and Mary Jane Faffini, etc. Then there are the new series by Avery Aames, Ellery Adams, Riley Adams, Amanda Flower and E.J. Cooperman.

My non-cozy that I'm waiting for is the latest by J.D. Robb.

  4. I don't really have a summer reading list...I have a ginormous TBR list (print & ebook)... some of the authors on the list... Lisabet Sarai, Terry Spear, Shiloh Walker, Kay Hooper, Rita Herron, Kate Perry, Kate Douglas, Barbara Freethy, Virginia Henley, Emma Lang, Laura Griffin, Shayla Kersten, Buffi Becraft-Woodall, K.A. M'Lady, Josh Lanyon, Carol Lynne, Sami Lee, Justus Roux, Dee Tenorio, Claire Thompson, Savannah Stuart and so many more.

I also have a bunch of books that are still pending publication that I want to get my hands on...I'll Be Slaying You by Cynthia Eden is heading the list.
