RIP Pamela James

Pamela “Pam” James, 61, of Parsons passed away at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, at her home.  
She was born July 2, 1957, in Chicago to James and Anelia (Derkowski) Walker. Pam grew up in Chetopa, attending schools there, and then graduated from Beaver High School in Beaver, Oklahoma.  She also attended Pittsburg State University.

Pam was a writer and had authored and published her own book and co-authored two other books. She enjoyed reading, writing blogs and reviews and being a part of online writing groups.
She and Frank James Sr. were married on Sept. 2, 1984, in Parsons, and he survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Stearns Rogers (Erin) of Bennington, Nebraska; two daughters, Amanda Wedgewood (Michael) of Warrensburg, Missouri, and Melissa Geisler of Kansas City, Missouri; a stepson, Frank James Jr. (Heather) of Baxter Springs; a stepdaughter, Mishell Beach (Shaun) of Thayer; 14 grandchildren with one due in November; three great-grandchildren with two due next year; a sister, Bonnie Barker of Claremore, Oklahoma; three brothers and a sister in Minnesota; and her mother-in-law, Captola Williams (Bob) of Parsons.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bailey Rogers.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Mason officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Labette Health Foundation to benefit the Center of Rehabilitation Excellence (CORE) and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
